**PKB Says Not Certain to Support Anies Baswedan** PKB Deputy Secretary General Syaiful Huda stated that his party is not certain to support Anies Baswedan in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada. This is because PKB still has one more name being considered, namely Ida Fauziyah. “PKB has not yet decided to support Anies, we are considering two names,” said Huda, during an interview at the Parliamentary Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday.

**PKS: 2 Coalitions in Jakarta Pilkada More Attractive, Higher Winning Chances** PKS Spokesperson Pipin Sopian stated that the party prefers two coalitions for the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election. This is because the chances of winning are greater as the election will not go to two rounds. “Yes, actually, 2 coalitions or 3 coalitions are interesting. For us, 2 coalitions are more attractive, the chances of our candidate winning are greater. If there are 3 coalitions, it might go to 2 rounds, we also calculate that,” stated Pipin at the Sahid Hotel, Jakarta, on Monday. Pipin mentioned that the opportunity to form a new coalition for the Jakarta gubernatorial election is still open. However, this needs to be discussed with other political parties. “All opportunities exist, well, I think we are only 1 party out of several parties, so we certainly have to talk together,” he stated.

Established Credentials Fuady detailed that the track record of Eman in the Majalengka administrative system has indeed been proven. He pointed out one of Eman’s initiatives was starting the Decent Housing Initiative in collaboration with the Scouts and Baznas of Majalengka. “Not only that, Suherman also dedicates considerable attention to the youth in Majalengka. His commitment to youth is expressed through real efforts such as the revitalization of Warung Jambu Stadium, the pride and joy of Majalengka residents,” explained Fuady. Therefore, M. E. Fuady believes that Suherman is the regent candidate who understands the situation of the Majalengka community the best. Moreover, he said, Eman, who is also a son of Majalengka, is the most favored prospective regent in the 2024 Majalengka Pilkada. “They are also usually hometown individuals and are adept at communicating with voters in their respective regions or the public in their areas,” noted Muhammad Fuady.

The independent candidate pair was declared not meeting the requirements (TMS) in the 2024 Malang City Pilkada by the General Election Commission (Komisi Pemilihan Umum) based on the results of administrative verification. Bawaslu had mediated both parties, but no agreement was reached. Thus, an adjudication hearing was held, using a third party, in this case, Bawaslu Malang City, as the adjudicator. The first hearing was held on June 25, 2024, with the agenda being the reading of the petitioner’s request and the response from KPU as the respondent.

“Our evaluation and selection are currently being formulated and will be completed soon. We will inform the Panwas (Supervisory Committee) in the regions and Bawaslu at the regency/city level to conduct the evaluation process for the Panwas at the sub-district level,” said Bawaslu RI Chairman Rahmat Bagja at the Bawaslu RI Building in Jakarta on Tuesday (16/4/2024), as reported by Antara.

Huda reminded that the Jakarta Pilkada is very fluid and nothing is fixed yet, including PKS, even though they are the winners of the Jakarta Legislative Election, but they cannot nominate on their own. “Nominating two figures at once as governor and deputy governor candidates, that’s in terms of political etiquette for a party that already has a golden ticket, has 20 percent. Now, we know our PKS friends did win in the last legislative election. But they haven’t exceeded 20 percent because they only have 18 seats while the 20 percent is 22 seats,” stated. “So in my opinion, this model of hoarding figures for a party that doesn’t meet and doesn’t have a golden ticket is dangerous, dangerous,” he concluded.

Regarding the recruitment and selection process by the General Election Commission (KPU) RI, Bagja asked all Bawaslu commissioners and staff to oversee this process. “We must supervise the recruitment and selection conducted by the KPU in recruiting the Sub-district Election Committees, Village Election Committees, and in the future, the Voting Organizing Groups (KPPS). This is our collective duty, and we hope we can accomplish it,” said Bagja.
